Our faces were a joy to behold when we received the memo stating that our annual business retreat would hold at the Ilashe Private Beach on December 11, 2020.
The business retreat is usually the highlight of each year. The team always looked forward to the scheduled date because it is a time to blow away the cobwebs and celebrate our successes throughout the year.
But with the continuous spread of the Covid -19 virus, the lockdown and restrictions on gathering, it was little wonder the JCFM team wasn’t expecting to have the customary annual retreat.
The news of the event kept everyone excited as we counted down the days to the scheduled date. With expectations built, preparations were in earnest to make the program a worthwhile experience.
We all came in comfortable clothes, dressed to participate in various fun activities that would unfold at the beach. Even our MD, Mrs. Gbadunade Ogunleye, was seen with a straw hat in anticipation of a wonderful time outdoors.
The day started with a boat ride to Ilashe Private Beach. Members of staff were seen capturing the moments in nature and with each other.
At the beach, we said a prayer, and we had breakfast. Afterwards, we were engaged in different fun activities from scrabble to horse riding, swimming, dancing and several other fun games.
Next came lunch and the presentation of awards to staff who had shown remarkable dedication and commitment to their tasks. The MD presented these awards to the awardees as other staff celebrated them with resounding applause.
As the event drew to a close, we gathered at fascinating spots to take pictures to preserve the moments.
The business retreat was a fun-filled success, and the year 2020 for the JCFM team was salvaged by the memorable experience at the Ilashe Private Beach.
